The deepest moments of connection; of dopamine; of what it means to be human is so often passed over in the day to day. Kent Dustin explores this in his music, creating his indie-folk soundscapes to encourage others to see the beauty in the mundane, to choose optimism and to build a life rich in the ‘little moments’.
“I think we get one shot at this life and tend to give most of our time and energy to things that don't really celebrate what it is to be human. Having a flirty interaction that gives your heart a flutter, waking up in the morning and choosing optimism and gratitude for the good things or realising the moment you feel you can trust yourself to someone else in a relationship capacity after previous hurt. If my writing connects to people because it meets them in those little moments that mean a lot but everyone skips over, then I'm doing my part as an artist.”
The Kent Dustin project is inspired by a variety of artists across genres including Luke Combs, The Teskey Brothers, Justin Timberlake, Running Touch and Mansionare whose skilled production and profound lyricism paints sonic tapestries that are uplifting, earnest and deeply-rooted in universal storytelling.
Produced by Robby De Sa, Nick Zaharias and Luke Palmer, and written / developed and performed by Kent Tonscheck (soloist, singer-songwriter, guitar, drum pad, looping), the Kent Dustin project is taking on 2023 with a string of releases including a duet titled I’d Miss You More with fellow musician Tesh Batkins. All singles will lead to a forthcoming EP with a raw-acoustic atmosphere, highlighting Kent Dustin’s skills as a poet and further emphasisng the importance of narrative - of the moments - throughout his work.
